St. Joseph's Academy Tennis Classic

This is a non-sanctioned tournament that is open to everyone over 18 years of age. The tournament benefits the St. Joseph's Academy Tennis Classic Scholarship, which offers need-based tuition assistance to deserving students and their families.

DIVISION REGISTRATION

USTA RATINGS WILL BE CHECKED. IF YOU REGISTER FOR A DIVISION BELOW YOUR USTA RATING, YOU MAY NOT BE ENTERED INTO THE TOURNAMENT. PLEASE REGISTER FOR YOUR CORRECT DIVISION!

SCHEDULE OF PLAY

Important: Play will start Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m.  

If we have weather delays, it is the player's responsibility to check the tournament website for updates.

NO SCHEDULE REQUEST FOR SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Friday schedule requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. Email huntercobbtennis@gmail.com.

SCORING

All Main Draw Matches will have regular scoring.

All Consolation Matches will have No Ad Scoring.

DIVISIONS

Women's   2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0

Men's  2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0

Mixed   6.0, 7.0, OPEN

SCORING

All matches will be 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point match tiebreak played instead of a 3rd set. 

A modified feed in consolation will be used feeding in from the first or second round of the main draw. All players are guaranteed 2 matches.

Matches or scoring may be shortened due to rain or weather issues.

CLOTHING

The Bocage Racquet Club Tennis Committee would like to remind all players that all-white tennis attire must be worn at any time on the courts. 10% color trim is permitted. This applies to hats, visors, wristbands, etc. Sleeveless shirts for men are not permitted. Colored warm-ups are allowed. Shoes may be any color! If you do not adhere to these guidelines, you will not be allowed to play until they have been met.

Players will be allowed to wear RED for the Friday night matches.

Bocage Racquet Club requires proper tennis attire that is 90% white. Shoes may have color, but they must be court shoes. Hats and visors follow the same 90% white requirement.

Tennis Apprentice/Step Up League

GBRCTA’s Tennis Apprentice / Step Up League is designed for adult beginner players. This is a fun and engaging way to learn tennis and you’ll get a free racquet! 

Join us for the first Tennis Apprentice / Step Up League of 2024 - registration is open now, and classes will begin on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

There will be four weeks of lessons and two weeks of Step Up League, held every Wednesday.

It will be held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Bocage Racquet Club, 7600 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge.

Through a partnership with Ochsner, the fee for employees of Ochsner is $50 / person. The fee for all other community members is $75/person. This cost includes both instruction and a racquet.
